Other Art Projects
Here is where we post pictures of "Other Art Projects". It's here you'll find projects made of all types materials. These items include wood, metal, glass, fused glass and other such things. Be sure and always check here to see what we're building next....................
At Cubby's, we create many different types of art. Some in our Studio and some in our woodworking shop (off premises). This piece of "Island Furniture" was built using all antique rough-sawn oak. Once finished, we then painted it to look like a piece that came right off the island. We love visiting the islands.......
We can build you any type of Island furniture you want.
Sometimes students want to have their own space at home to work on their art. In these cases, using just any table won't do.. That's why they order a custom work table from Cubby's. These particular tables have an area on the bottom for the students to store their stained glass. There are also small shelves built on either end. If you'd like to order a work table we can custom make them to work with whatever type of art or craft you're working with.
Many people have requested a class in mosaics. We have everything you need to learn how to make a mosaic piece and learn the techniques to create your own mosaics, at home, on almost anything..
These classes are normally on Saturdays from 9-1. The hours will vary for you depending on how long certain steps take you to complete.
This fish cabinet was created from rough sawn cherry lumber. Once "milled", (the process of making rough sawn wood look and feel smooth) we then carved a trout out of one of the boards. This particular fish was not applied (not attached). That means we took the board, carved out the trout and then used the whole board in the project.
We then built a leaded stained glass window for the door.
